What kinds of personal data do we process, for which purposes and on which legal basis?

According to the EU GDPR, ‘personal data’ is data that allows inferences to be drawn about your identity. People are also considered to be indirectly ‘identifiable’ by associa-tion with attributes such as location data, IPs and browser cookies.

Newsletter

We need your personal contact details in order to fulfil your request to be subscribed to our newsletter. This data is deleted when you unsubscribe from our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time, either by emailing us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or simply by clicking the ‘Unsubscribe from newsletter’ link included in the newsletter footer.

To send out our newsletter, we use the external service provider Rapidmail, pursuant to EU GDPR article 28. Provider details: Rapidmail GmbH, Augustinerplatz 2, 79098 Freiburg i.Br., Germany. Rapidmail is a service that can be used to organise and analyse the sending of newsletters (among other features). The data that you enter to subscribe to our newsletter is stored on Rapidmail servers in Germany.

If you do not want Rapidmail to perform analyses, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter.

To perform these analyses, emails sent by Rapidmail include a ‘tracking pixel’ that allows a connection to be made to Rapidmail servers when the email is opened. Rapidmail uses this approach to identify if and when a newsletter mail has been opened. In addition, we can also use Rapidmail to discover if and when links in the newsletter mail have been clicked. All of the links in the email are ‘tracking links’ and can therefore be used to count your clicks.

More information about Rapidmail’s analysis features is available from the following link: https://de.rapidmail.wiki/kategorien/statistiken/
The basis for processing is your consent as given pursuant to point (a) of article 6(1) of the EU GDPR (consent to processing for a specific purpose) and point (b) (fulfilment of a contract, here: subscription to a newsletter) of the same article.

This information may include your browser type and version, the operating system you use, the referrer URL, the date and time of your server request, and your IP address. We use this information to protect our computers and your comput-er against attacks, and to improve our website services. This information is usually delet-ed after 14 days.
